2016 SASMA Student Education Series
In 2016 SA Sports Medicine Association will once again be conducting an Education Series aimed at University Students and recent Graduates; in particularly those from Health and Medical Science degrees who are either currently working with sporting teams or have an interest in working with athletes and teams in the future.
This Education Series gives a practical nature to what students are learning at university as well as building on the basics that are taught in the SASMA Level 1 & 2 Sports Trainers course.
Session 1 - Advanced Taping, Massage and Recovery
This workshop is a hands on practical session will cover advanced taping techniques of the Ankle, Knee and Shoulder along with pre and post game massage techniques. To finish off the session there will be a hands on practical recovery session utilising the pool facilities at the Adelaide Football Club.
This session will allow participants to learn some new techniques to implement at their club or in their practice. It is also a great opportunity to ask lots of questions of the presenters who work at an elite sporting club what they do and why they do what they do.
